I will have work in the inaugural exhibition of the new Vladem Contemporary Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Shadow and Light. The show opens on Sept 23, 2023 and remains open through April 28, 2024. The title of the exhibition plays upon the famed New Mexico light which is credited for attracting artists to the region, and this is a reason I moved to New Mexico. The vellum drawings that will be included are shadow jewels and manifested through journeys between 이승 (this world) and 저승 (that world). In these explorations, I found that my shadow is a jewel in the Back of Beyond and that the light is birthed in the depths of the shadow habitat.
